![]() All looked OK sitting on the ground at full steering travel.Īlso, moving the bracket down the side of the frame, back I guess, didn't pose a problem with tire sidewall and the bracket/line? I was concerned about that, so left the Monte bracket in place. Where was this clearance needed? As I assembled everything, there looked like a potential hose pinch point between the frame and caliper at full droop and full turn, but this was without the tierods hooked up so had more travel, and it didn't look close enough with the tierods attached to pinch. You mentioned that you used the Blazer bracket to gain clearance for the line. ![]() I have read of others needing an adaptor on their conversions, so wonder where the 3/8 size flare nuts were used.? Now knowing what size I was looking for, I searched brake hoses for this type of Blazer and all showed the same end size (7/16-24) as a Monte. Looking at that fitting and the sizes it adapts, if I needed that I don't think I could have hooked up the frame end of the lines without it, so I hope I am OK there. Blazer hose and bracket, Monte hose and bracket, Blazer hose and Monte bracket? What worked best or gave best clearance? Also, any issues with the threads and flare? My question is what have others done on this conversion when using factory style parts (no braided lines). Looking at all the bits I have (did cut the Blazer hard line when I got these so had them to compare) sure looked the same to me and it all threaded up and sealed well. I will check it more closely this AM to verify, but last night it looked good.Īlso have read that the Blazer hose has a different end thread (and flare?) than the Monte hardline. Also looks like it will keep the hose out of the way of potential contact with the tire. All fit together very well and I seem to have no interference or tension issues. Didn't need to break the existing hose/caliper union at this time and didn't want to rebend the hard line if I didn't have to at this time. I have went with the factory style Blazer hose for a 2 piston caliper and the factory '84 Monte frame bracket for the hose/pipe union. I have read that the Monte hose and bracket can be used on the Blazer calipers, I have also read that the Blazer hose and bracket can be used with a rebent hardline at the frame, or that Blazer hose can be used with the Monte bracket. The questions I have is regarding the brake hose fitment for this swap. Just performed the Blazer spindle swap yesterday afternoon/evening, and while I have only driven the car up and down the street, I can say WOW, what an improvement!
